INFORMATIONAL MEETING
Students and Parents interested in Milton Theatre Company’s Advanced Drama & Cirque classes next year are encouraged to attend an informational meeting. Students and parents will learn more about our award-winning program from current students, parents and directors. After a brief presentation there will time for questions and answers. Details about the audition process will be discussed.

Sign-up for a specific audition time slot beginning Tuesday, March 1st. Sign-up sheet will be posted outside the Blackbox Theatre OR non-Milton students can contact the Director to reserve a spot (Helen Gordon - gordonh1@fultonschools.org). Be sure you receive a confirmation for your time slot.
PROCEDURES
Pre-Audition:

Complete the audition form

Tuesday, March 1st - sign-up sheet will be posted outside the Blackbox Theatre (Room 7104) for specific audition timeslots

Prepare a 1 to 2 minute monologue from a published play or musical (not TV or film).

OPTIONAL: If you consider yourself a singer, then please prepare a song selection from a musical. Bring a backup track without vocals. It’s best if the track is on your phone.
At the Audition:

Arrive at the audition 15 minutes prior to your assigned time slot.

Check in at table.

Dress to impress. Look professional.

Each person will audition alone with the Director(s) observing.
During the Audition:
Once you enter, provide your headshot/resume, if you have one. This is not mandatory! This is when you would also present your music track if you are singing.

Go onstage and get ready to begin. Wait for the okay to go. Adjust chair as needed.

Slate.
-
Present monologue.
-
Present song, if there is one.
-
Possible re-direct.
Remember to get your music, before leaving.
After the Audition:
Class placements will be posted the Friday before spring break online at www.MiltonTheatreCompany.com.
Each student will be placed in the appropriate class – Acting I, Acting II & III or Advanced Drama - where they will best benefit from instruction.
Parents of students assigned to Advanced Drama will attend a mandatory Parents’ Meeting before the end of this semester. At this meeting details of commitment for both student and parents will be covered.
Students who are accepted into the program will be expected to sign a behavior and social media contract that will have clearly stated expectations and consequences. Parents will be asked to acknowledge this student contract as well. Students will be held accountable to these behaviors and standards.

In addition, Advanced Drama One-Act Play is a GHSA sanctioned sport and students are expected to comply with the 365 days/24 hours behavior standards per the Fulton County Athletic/Parent Handbook for GHSA Sanctioned Interscholastic Athletic Activities (Student Code of Conduct pp 8-11). Parents and students will be required to sign-off that they have read and understand the information in the “Handbook”.
